Winter Snow

Posted on 10:09 by Unknown

Could've come like a mighty storm
With all the strength of a hurricane
You could've come like a forest fire
With the power of heaven in Your flame

But You came like a winter snow
Quiet and soft and slow
Falling from the sky in the night
To the earth below

You could've swept in like a tidal wave
Or an ocean to ravish our hearts
You could have come through like a roaring flood
To wipe away the things we've scarred

But You came like a winter snow
(Yes, You did)
You were quiet
You were soft and slow
Falling from the sky in the night
To the earth below

Oh, no, Your voice wasn't in a bush burning
No, Your voice wasn't in a rushing wind
It was still
It was small
It was hidden

You came like a winter snow
Quiet and soft and slow
Falling from the sky in the night
To the earth below

Falling
(Oh, yeah)
To the earth below
You came falling
From the sky in the night
To the earth below

Christmas Movie Marathon

Posted on 10:06 by Unknown
This rainy weather in San Diego combined with the sites and smells of Christmas time have made me even more thankful for the 2 week break that I get from work.

Today, I am having a Christmas Movie Marathon. The Holiday, Love Actually, Home Alone, Christmas Vacation... only the best!

So far, I have watched The Holiday. If you haven't seen it, Kira-I am talking to YOU, you MUST. Jude Law is a hot dad. Jack Black is adorable. It is just perfect.

Amanda (Cameron Diaz) and Iris (Kate Winslet) trade homes for the holiday, putting Amanda in a small town outside of London and Kate in LA. Amanda is unable to feel and Iris is in love with someone that doesn't see her. Again, if you haven't seen this movie, YOU MUST.

Here is one of my favorite quotes from the movie...

Iris:

"I understand feeling as small and as insignificant as humanly possible. And how it can actually ache in places you didn't know you had inside you. And it doesn't matter how many new haircuts you get, or gyms you join, or how many glasses of chardonnay you drink with your girlfriends... you still go to bed every night going over every detail and wonder what you did wrong or how you could have misunderstood. And how in the hell for that brief moment you could think that you were that happy. And sometimes you can even convince yourself that he'll see the light and show up at your door. And after all that, however long all that may be, you'll go somewhere new. And you'll meet people who make you feel worthwhile again. And little pieces of your soul will finally come back. And all that fuzzy stuff, those years of your life that you wasted, that will eventually begin to fade. "

MiiR

Posted on 08:36 by Unknown
I LOOOOVVVVVVVVEEEEEEE my MiiR bottle.

Between this beauty and my trusty Costco cups, I am drinking A LOT more water than I ever have before.

As I have said before, I love MiiR's business model and everything about them. Quality product. Quality people. Giving back. It is amazing.

Check out this screamin deal on a MiiR bottle...

Buy one. Buy two. Heck, be like my friend Justin and buy 8 for family and friends.

Do it. :)

I lub my yob

Posted on 11:50 by Unknown
Seriously, I love my job.

For the first time in a long time, I love my job and where I work. I don't dread going to work. It is just a really good feeling. One of the best parts of my job is the kids. These kids are amazing. They say the BEST things. Here are a few parts of recent conversations...

Kid: "We all speak two languages."
Me: "What languages?"
Kid: "We used to speak baby and now we speak English."

Me: "I like your Chargers sweatshirt."
Kid: "My dad bought it for me when we went to a Charger game last year."
Me: "Cool, I went to the Monday Night Football game last week."
Kid: "The other team had four immerceptions in that game."

Kid: "Miss Amanda, I still want to live with you and quit telling me I won't like it. It isn't working."
Me: "No seriously, I am a grumpy old woman, you don't want to live with me.
Kid: "You are grumpy or old."

Kid: "Miss Amanda, what are you asking Santa for?"
Me: "I donno."
Kid: "You better decide quick, he doesn't have very much longer to make your wish come true.

I love my job!
