I prefer 1996 to 2012...
Posted on 08:56 by Unknown
I was SO excited to see Clay Walker at KSON Country Fest. SO EXCITED.
The time that I spent in Texas was less than stellar. In fact, in many ways, it was horrible.
BUT, even with the horrible parts, I can't forget the good times and I can't help but smile when certain songs come on. Of course, music would be the thing that brings out the happy times.
I mean I will NEVER forget watching the WORLD PREMIERE of TLC's Waterfalls video on MTV in our Mobile Home at Val's Trailer Park. Yes, you read that right. To take from Kid Rock, "I ain't straight outta Compton, I straight out the trailer."
Clay Walker has some REAL gems..
If I Could Make a Living
Then What?
Hypnotize the Moon
This Woman and This Man
I couldn't wait to hear these tunes live!
Unfortunately, Clay Walker 1996 stayed home, and Clay Walker 2012 showed up.
Thank God for good company and an all access pass.
In spite of the lack of 1996 Clay Walker hits, we still had a great time.
We laughed at how terrible the sound was.
We did our best impressions of Clay's offensive dance moves.
We did our fair share of people watching/judging.
We smiled and laughed a lot.
All this to say, Clay Walker, I prefer 1996 to 2012. Please act accordingly. :)

That's a Wrap...
Posted on 10:46 by Unknown
It feels like it was just yesterday that I got an e-mail from Rhonda, asking me to come down to Cricket to get started on all of the Country Megaticket 2012 stuff. So much has happened since receiving that email on January 29.
Countless emails, phone calls, planning meetings, dreaming, prepping, executing, and follow up has taken place. To say that I am proud of the work that I (and my wonderful co-workers, friends, and family) did, would be a gross understatement. It was an absolute joy to work on this project. There were moments that were really hard but those are overshadowed by the immense amount of joy and gratitude that I have for being able to be part of this event series.
Part of my job was to get to know the purchasers - to be their hostess with the mostess... As I got to know many of the purchasers, they allowed me to be part of celebrating engagements, babies, birthdays, new jobs, and lots of other life events. With every concert that came and went, I really grew to love the people in the Country Megaticket Premium Lounge - some, I even call friend.
We closed out the 2012 Concert Season and the Country Megaticket 2012 at Cricket Wireless Amphitheater on October 18, with Brad Paisley, The Band Perry and Scotty McCreery. It was bittersweet. After almost 9 months, it was time to close up shop until 2013.
I can't wait for the Country Megaticket 2013 and all the joy that it will bring. I know I am a few days early on my annual posts on Thankfulness but this couldn't wait.
So, for the Country Megaticket 2012... That's a Wrap!
Ashley was my partner in crime at the Country Megaticket Lounge for the shows at CWA. I am so thankful that she got placed at my party. As you can tell, we didn't have any fun at all! She has become a good friend of mine and I can't wait to have her on my team again in 2013!
Alicia and Will are HANDS DOWN two of my very favorite people that I got to meet through the CMT2012. These two are so fun and always made Ashley and I smile. They have taken some of the BEST photobooth pictures this season. I always love seeing what they do for their photos! They became unofficial members of the CMT2012 team, as Will considered himself the bouncer and the both always found themselves helping Ashley and I at the door. They are just so fun!
Like I have said before, I don't have any fun at work and HATE to have my picture taken...

Sister Date
Posted on 08:33 by Unknown
My sister and I didn't get along growing up.
In fact, that is an understatement.
We didn't like each other... not even a little bit.
Ever since Patti got pregnant with Parker 5 years ago, we have gotten closer and closer.
Now, I love hanging out with my sister. We go on "sister dates" as often as we can with our busy schedules. My favorite thing to do with my sister is to go to concerts. Two years ago, I took her to see Carrie Underwood as her Christmas present. So, it was only fitting that I did that same thing this year.
Hunter Hayes killed it.
Carrie Underwood was better than ever.
It was a great night.

Some people have all the fun...
Posted on 13:49 by Unknown
I am pretty sure that I have said it before, but I am one of those people.
This week has been full of fun and lacking in sleep... and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Sunday, it was date night for Tia, Parker and Jackson. Let's be real, my sister came too. I am not brave enough to take both boys out on my own. We went to see Disney on Ice. Love those boys so much. Being a Tia has got to be one of the best things in the world.
Monday brought one of my favorite days of the year... MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL in San Diego! Let's not talk about the outcome of the game. Instead, let's focus on the fact that it is always fun to be at a game, especially when it is a MNF game.
Wednesday night brought an evening in Solana Beach... dinner at Pizza Port followed by taking in the sweet sounds of Allen Stone at The Belly Up! Always fun to have a friend come through town on tour. if you don't know Allen Stone's music... allow me to change your life for the better.
Thursday night was bittersweet... Not only was it the last show of the 2012 Country Mega Ticket, but it was the last show of the 2012 Concert Season at Cricket Wireless Amphitheater. I am so thankful for my job with Live Nation. Love it. Love that it has brought some real gems into my life, like the ladies in this picture. The Country Mega Ticket... bringing people together since 2012.
The week isn't even over yet...
Tonight is dinner with a friend that I haven't seen in months along with some special time welcoming a friend who just made the move to San Diego from Arizona.
Tomorrow is Sister Date Night... taking my sister to see CARRIE UNDERWOOD as an early Christmas Present.
To say that I am blessed would be a gross understatement.
Loving this season of life...

Nothing to lose...
Posted on 11:01 by Unknown
...and the world to gain.
I have a tendency to let fear hold me back.
Maybe it is my history of anxiety.
Maybe it is my fear of failure.
Maybe it is my fear of rejection.
Maybe it is the underlying thought of nothing being _______ enough.
Maybe it is a combo of all of the above and things that I can't even put words to.
Either way, sometimes, fear gets the best of me.
In an effort to overcome the grip that fear seems to have on my life at times, I have started asking myself this:

In an effort to overcome the grip that fear seems to have on my life at times, I have started asking myself this:
WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO LOSE?
The majority of the time, the answer is this:
I HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE AND THE WORLD TO GAIN.
I have made it a goal to work hard to make sure fear has no choice but to loosen it's grip on me. After all, most of the time, I have nothing to lose and the world to gain.
